"Without the US, Mexico would be eating cat food," said Senator John Kennedy

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador called on US citizens not to vote for Republican Senator John Kennedy today for having offended Mexico. The Mexican president stated that Kennedy has demonstrated a racist and xenophobic attitude towards Mexican migrants residing in the United States.

In a morning press conference at the National Palace, López Obrador said that the Mexican government will not allow any citizen to be discriminated against based on their ethnic origin or nationality. "I call on our American brothers and sisters not to vote for this man who has offended Mexico and Mexicans," said the president.

The Mexican president also criticized the US government's immigration policy, especially its family separation and migrant detention policies. López Obrador stated that these policies are inhumane and unacceptable, and that Mexico is working to protect its citizens and improve the situation of migrants in the United States.

López Obrador's statement comes amid growing tension between Mexico and the United States, particularly over immigration and trade issues. The Mexican president has promised to defend his country's interests and not give in to pressure from the US government.

López Obrador's call has generated mixed reactions in the United States. Some have criticized the Mexican president's interference in US internal affairs, while others have supported López Obrador's stance and criticized Kennedy's racist and xenophobic attitude.

At the moment, Kennedy has not issued any statement regarding the Mexican president's remarks. The election in which Kennedy is participating will take place in a few weeks and its outcome could have an impact on the relations between Mexico and the United States.
