The Mexican driver sent an emotional farewell message

The rumor that circulated during the 2024 campaign was finally confirmed this Wednesday: Mexican driver Sergio "Checo" Pérez will no longer be part of the Red Bull Racing team in Formula 1, the pinnacle of motorsport. This decision comes despite Pérez having a contract valid until 2025, with an option to renew through 2026.

This marks the end of "Checo" Pérez’s era with Red Bull, where he spent four years alongside Max Verstappen.

"After four successful seasons together, and following the conclusion of the longest Formula 1 season in history, Sergio Pérez and Oracle Red Bull Racing have mutually agreed to part ways in 2025," stated the team's official announcement. Pérez expressed his gratitude:

"Driving for Red Bull has been an unforgettable experience, and I will always cherish the successes we achieved together; we broke records, reached incredible milestones, and I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many amazing people along the way. I wish the team all the best for the future."

He added, "A huge thank you to everyone in the team—from management to engineers and mechanics (...). It has also been an honor to race alongside Max over these years and share in our success. We’ll meet again soon, and remember: never give up!"

During his time with Red Bull, Pérez secured a runner-up position in the championship and contributed significantly to Verstappen's four titles.
