As part of the changes, a service office will be closed

The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has implemented significant modifications to its services.

One of the key updates is the elimination of the written test requirement for drivers aged 70 and older when renewing their licenses, aiming to streamline the process for this segment of the population.

Additionally, on October 18, 2024, the DMV permanently closed its Laguna Hills office, significantly impacting drivers in the area. This decision was made to comply with federal regulations and address rising operational costs.

Residents in the affected area will now need to visit alternative locations such as Santa Ana, Costa Mesa, or San Clemente, which feature modern infrastructure and efficient service to handle increased demand.
