Santa Ana winds could bring rain

Light rain is expected in San Diego County at the start of the week due to a low-pressure system moving south from central California. This system, responsible for the first significant snowfall in the northern part of the state, could bring isolated showers to the coast, valleys, and mountains between Monday night and Tuesday. Accumulations are expected to be minimal, with just a few hundredths of an inch.

Additionally, onshore flow will increase on Monday, bringing low-lying clouds to the region and westerly winds in the mountains and deserts starting around 9 or 10 p.m. By Tuesday, winds will shift offshore, creating dry and windy conditions. Although these Santa Ana winds will be weaker than last week, they will still elevate fire risk.

Tuesday’s highs will range between 59-68 °F on beaches and in valleys, 55-59 °F in the mountains, and 73-75 °F in the deserts. Another possible round of rain may arrive between Friday night and Sunday afternoon.
