After a hard-fought election day

Donald Trump has been re-elected as President of the United States in a historic and closely contested election, marking his return to the White House after defeating Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. With 277 electoral votes compared to Harris' 224, Trump secured his victory in a race that saw the nation deeply divided.

According to reports from The Washington Post, the Republican candidate triumphed in key battleground states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, along with other conservative strongholds in the South and Midwest. Trump earned the backing of critical territories like Texas, Florida, and Ohio, which were decisive in securing the necessary electoral votes. Harris, in contrast, gained support along the West Coast, including California and Washington, as well as major urban centers in the Northeast such as New York and New Jersey, as reported by The Associated Press.

One of the first public congratulators was Elon Musk, who celebrated the victory via his platform, X. "Tonight, the people of America gave Donald Trump a clear mandate for change," wrote the entrepreneur. Nayib Bukele, the President of El Salvador, also extended his congratulations even before the result was officially confirmed, according to Reforma.

Trump addressed a crowd of supporters in Florida, emphasizing that "the United States has given us a powerful and unprecedented mandate." In his speech, the President-elect thanked his supporters and reiterated his intention to implement significant changes in the country's direction.

The Republican victory also extended to the Senate, where the GOP regained control by winning several key seats, giving Trump a legislative advantage for his next administration.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris has not yet officially conceded defeat or addressed her supporters. At her campaign event, many of her supporters left before the results were confirmed. The race, particularly in contested states like North Carolina, Georgia, and Nevada, highlighted the deep divisions within the American electorate.
