Seventeen people were injured Tuesday afternoon after a pickup truck collided with an MTS trolley at a Chula Vista intersection, according to fire officials. The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Industrial Boulevard and L Street.

An MTS spokesperson reported that the truck struck a northbound trolley at the L Street crossing. According to the Chula Vista Police Department, one person inside the truck was injured.

In a statement, MTS noted: "The South Blue Line remains in recovery mode this morning. No trolley service is available between H Street and Palm Avenue, and a shuttle bus is transporting passengers to all impacted stations. Passengers are advised to plan ahead, allow extra time, and expect delays due to ongoing track repairs."

"MTS is investigating the incident and will provide further details once the investigation is complete," the statement added.
