The San Diego Police Department is currently working to contain a large and growing fire in the College area. Authorities have issued evacuation orders for zones marked in pink on the map.

San Diego residents have been able to see the wave of smoke from various locations across the city.

Evacuation Point: Evacuated residents can go to the Allied Gardens Recreation Center, located at 5155 Greenbrier Ave, San Diego, 92120.

Road Closures and Evacuations:

Collwood between Monroe and Montezuma

Montezuma between Fairmont and 55th

Fairmont from the I-8 to Aldine

Camino Del Rio South at Fairmont

Fairmont exit on eastbound I-8

The roads will remain closed until at least midnight, and the public is advised to avoid these areas.
