Unofficial reports indicate that at least one person was killed in the clashes.

Residents of neighborhoods like Real del Valle and Infonavit Playas shared videos of the gunfire sounds on social media.

Authorities issued an alert advising people to remain indoors. Mazatlán’s Public Security Department urged the public to stay sheltered as authorities addressed the situation.

The shootings began in Real del Valle, where a truck was sprayed with bullets in front of a taco stand.

A viral video captured a frightened child during the gunfire, highlighting the emotional toll of the violence. Social media was flooded with warnings as residents sought refuge in their homes and public spaces.

In a Soriana supermarket, customers and employees hid until the situation calmed. Images showed bullet-riddled vehicles, and a body was found in a truck in Parque Lineal.

The National Guard and State Preventive Police mobilized to the city’s northern area, where fears of violence persist amid infighting within the Sinaloa Cartel.
