The future of DACA is uncertain after arguments in the Court of appeals

More than 200 protesters, including some immigrants who were brought to the United States illegally as children, gathered outside a federal courthouse in New Orleans. The demonstration coincided with a hearing where three appellate judges listened to arguments regarding President Joe Biden's policy that protects these immigrants from deportation.

The case, being heard in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, could determine the future of around 535,000 individuals who have spent their entire lives in the U.S., despite lacking citizenship or legal residency. These individuals live under the constant threat of deportation, and the legal battle is expected to eventually reach the Supreme Court.

Those affected claim that their lives are fully established in the U.S., with families, homes, and belongings at stake, living in constant fear of losing everything they have built over the years.
