Oryx Restaurant highlights deep Mexican roots

Another restaurant in Tijuana has been recognized by the prestigious Michelin Guide, with Oryx being added to its select list. This iconic establishment is led by Chef Ruffo Ibarra, who has masterfully combined traditional Mexican cuisine with contemporary touches, solidifying Oryx as a key player in the city's culinary scene.

 

 

 

 

The dining room, decorated in dark earth tones, with red brick walls, wooden and tiled floors, metal beams, and warm lighting, exudes an industrial style that perfectly complements its culinary offerings. Oryx’s kitchen, deeply rooted in Mexican traditions, offers an extensive menu that includes cold starters like crudos and seafood, grilled cuts, and soups such as the shrimp consommé with mushrooms, where a hot shrimp broth gently cooks the raw shrimp pieces.

 

 

 

 

Among the fish dishes, the golden and crispy sea bass stands out, served with creamy onion purée, fried cabbage bits, and a delicious green sauce. To finish, diners can enjoy warm churros paired with bourbon ice cream, an excellent choice to conclude the meal on a high note.
