San Diego is in second place in its division

Dominicans Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr. hit home runs, leading San Diego to a 7-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners last night in the opener of the 2024 Major League Baseball season series.

His blast was a line drive over center field off George Kirby in the sixth inning, giving San Diego a 5-2 lead. This was Machado’s 26th home run of the season, placing him as the sole leader in this category, surpassing Nate Colbert atop the Padres' all-time home run list.
