San Diego on alert due to polluted air from wildfires

The dangerously high temperatures that affected San Diego County have begun to decrease, giving way to cooler weather that will continue to drop gradually throughout the week. By Wednesday, temperatures are expected to return to near-normal levels across the county, both during the day and at night, providing relief for residents.

However, despite the expiration of heat alerts, a new concern has arisen: wildfire smoke. An air quality alert is in effect until Thursday due to degraded air quality, which could impact vulnerable groups. It is advised to limit outdoor activities in these conditions.

Throughout the week, temperatures in valley areas will continue to drop, while mountain regions will experience more tolerable weather. A low-pressure system in the Pacific Northwest will bring widespread cooling to the region, with temperatures expected to hover around or slightly below the seasonal average by the weekend.
