Early Tuesday morning, La Cueva del Peludo bar once again became the scene of a violent incident. At approximately 1:50 a.m., a security guard stationed at the venue, located on Díaz Ordaz Boulevard, was shot. Paramedics arrived at the scene and treated the victim for gunshot wounds to his right arm before transporting him to a hospital.

According to initial reports, the assailants were traveling in a silver Honda Civic with tinted windows. One individual exited the vehicle, fired several shots, and then fled on foot down Charros Street, disappearing from view. Authorities later found multiple shell casings at the scene, prompting them to cordon off the area. The incident drew a significant response from local police, the National Guard, the Army, Firefighters, and the State Attorney General's Office.

This is not the first violent incident at the bar. On March 27, another security guard was killed, and on September 4, a man was fatally shot, leaving two others wounded. Additionally, on September 8, two parking lot attendants near the bar were shot, with one of them succumbing to his injuries.

So far in 2024, La Cueva del Peludo has been the site of at least six armed attacks, resulting in six deaths and seven injuries. Municipal Secretary of Public Security and Citizen Protection, Fernando Sánchez González, stated that investigations are underway and emphasized the need for a continued police presence in the area until those responsible for the violence are brought to justice.
