The Drug enforcement administration confirmed his entry

Ovidio Guzmán López, known as "El Ratón" and a key member of the Los Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel, has reportedly entered the U.S. witness protection program. This information was revealed by El Universal, which indicated that Guzmán López, son of the infamous Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, is currently under the protection of the U.S. Marshals. Due to the classified nature of his case, he will not be presented publicly.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has confirmed that Ovidio Guzmán has joined the witness protection program. This revelation comes after Mexico's Attorney General's Office (FGR) expressed concerns about the lack of transparency from the U.S. government regarding Guzmán López's whereabouts. The FGR suggested that there might be an agreement between Joaquín Guzmán and U.S. authorities, speculating that Ovidio Guzmán was handed over on July 25th, which could have played a role in the alleged capture of Sinaloa Cartel founder Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada.

The FGR also proposed that Ovidio Guzmán's release from a high-security U.S. prison on July 23, 2024, might be connected to the operation leading to the capture of "El Mayo" Zambada, suggesting potential U.S. government involvement or prior knowledge of the operation.
