María Isabel and Paola Salcedo accused of alleged homicide

The Jalisco Prosecutor's Office has issued an arrest warrant against María Isabel "N," the mother of footballer Carlos Salcedo, for her alleged involvement in the aggravated homicide of José Félix "N," due to a dispute over an inheritance. The warrant was granted after presenting evidence implicating María Isabel and her deceased daughter, Paola Salcedo.

A key witness reported that Paola Salcedo verbally threatened José Félix "N" on March 5, 2023, warning him that her boyfriend would kill him if he did not return the claimed inheritance.

José Félix "N" was shot dead on March 6 at his home in Guadalajara by two men on motorcycles, who also threatened his wife with death if she did not return the disputed inheritance.

The Public Ministry presented evidence demonstrating the premeditation of the homicide by María Isabel and Paola Salcedo, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant on January 30, 2024. The Jalisco Prosecutor's Office has yet to execute the warrant, which only applies to María Isabel, as Paola was murdered months earlier.

Paola Salcedo was shot dead on June 29, along with her four-year-old son in Huixquilucan. The alleged attackers were arrested, and María Isabel Hernández accused her son Carlos Salcedo and his wife of being the masterminds behind the murder.

The Mexico City Prosecutor's Office reported that the investigation into Paola's femicide remains open, with the detained José Iván "N" and Miguel Ángel "N," alias El Pecas, considered the material authors of the crime, allegedly motivated by an attempted robbery.
