The actress was stuck in an elevator at the San Diego Convention Center for over an hour and documented her experience in a series of videos shared on her social media

Garner, who was at Comic-Con for a surprise appearance following the screening of Deadpool & Wolverine on Thursday night, shared videos on Instagram on Saturday, captioning them: "Baby’s first Comic Con: a short story."

In the first clip, recorded two minutes after getting stuck, Garner quipped, "I could use a Wolverine, I could use a Deadpool. I could use someone. Yeah, we’re looking for stairs."

Eleven minutes later, in another video, Garner shared that the temperature was starting to rise and they were in communication with help on how to get out. "I’m sweating. I need to blot," said the visibly warm actress. "We’re being told not to cut the blue wire."

In another clip, timestamped at 35 minutes, Garner explained why she was sitting: "I think I heard on an episode of The Office or Brooklyn Nine-Nine or something that you’re supposed to sit, so we’re sitting." At the 41-minute mark, Garner can be seen dancing and singing, "99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer…"

They called 911 at the 45-minute mark. However, when someone from Garner’s team mentioned they were in San Diego, Garner replied, "I thought we were in Vegas."

Things progressed at the 60-minute mark when they heard beeping noises and the elevator lights came back on. Trying to send good vibes, Garner began singing Madonna’s "Like a Prayer."

Finally, at the 72-minute mark, Garner's clip shows the elevator doors opening as she and the other passengers screamed with excitement, greeted by what appeared to be firefighters.

Despite the mishap, Garner managed to make it to her panel.

Last July, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the actress would be returning as the assassin antiheroine Elektra in Deadpool 3, marking her return to the role after nearly 20 years. Garner first played the Marvel assassin in 2003’s Daredevil, the film starring Ben Affleck.
