Authorities found illegally planted plants in California

Law enforcement in California reported that agents recently seized over 1,500 cannabis plants and six firearms from illegal cultivation sites near Colonel Allensworth State Park. The California Department of Justice stated that, in total, agents from the Unified Cannabis Enforcement Task Force seized and destroyed 1,572 plants weighing approximately 3,757 pounds from two locations near the park in Allensworth, about 45 minutes north of Bakersfield.

During the operation, they also confiscated a "ghost gun". State officials did not specify the exact date of the operation at Allensworth State Park.

Additionally, in another raid, law enforcement seized and destroyed 3,684 cannabis plants from cultivation sites near Saddleback Butte State Park in Antelope Valley.

"Preventing environmental damage caused by illegal cannabis cultivation within park boundaries and on adjacent private properties is a priority for our law enforcement team," said Armando Quintero, Director of California State Parks, in a statement.

State authorities added that the task force has seized over $120 million worth of illegal cannabis products and has destroyed 122,900 illegal plants since January of this year.
