Dismantling in Durango: Right-hand man of 'El Guano' falls

Mexican authorities have successfully captured Luis "N," known as "R8," who served as the head of security within the inner circle of Aureliano Guzmán Loera, alias "El Guano," brother of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán and leader of the "Gente del Guano" faction linked to the Pacific Cartel.

The arrest took place during a patrol operation near the village of El Durazno, Tamazula, Durango, where elements of the Army and the National Guard apprehended four individuals, including Luis "N." Weapons exclusively used by the Army were confiscated, suggesting their alleged affiliation with the aforementioned cartel.

Luis "N" stands out as a fundamental part of Aureliano Guzmán's primary security circle, responsible for coordinating security, acquiring tactical equipment, and arming "El Guano" in the region. The group led by Guzmán Loera, also known as "The Golden Triangle," is notorious for its involvement in violent acts, including decapitations and threats to rivals and those attempting to challenge their dominance in the mountainous areas of Chihuahua, Durango, and Sinaloa.

Recently, Aureliano Guzmán's actions nearly sparked a conflict with his nephew Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, alias "El Chapito," after ordering the execution of three members of the rival group "Los Menores" within his territory.

The arrest of Luis "N" represents a significant blow to the cartel's security and operational structure in the region, highlighting the ongoing efforts of the authorities to combat violence and organized crime in Mexico.
