Authorities in Mexico City have announced the arrest of Edgar Jesus "N," also known as "El Faso," considered a leader of drug traffickers in Mexico City.

Pablo Vázquez, head of the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City (SSC CDMX), reported that the arrest of Edgar Jesus "N" took place in Quintana Roo. Additionally, in simultaneous operations, six other people were captured, three men and three women, in the same state.

All detainees face charges for aggravated criminal association. Investigations carried out by the SSC CDMX, in collaboration with the National Intelligence Center, the Navy Secretariat, and the Quintana Roo Prosecutor's Office, allowed obtaining the necessary data for a judge to issue seven arrest warrants on April 16.

The first arrests took place in Quintana Roo, where Edgar Jesus "N" was located, along with a man and a woman, in the Puerto Juárez neighborhood, Benito Juárez municipality. In a joint effort, the authorities confirmed their identity and proceeded with their arrest.

Subsequently, the detainees were transferred to Mexico City, where the men were admitted to the North Male Preventive Prison, while the woman was taken to the Santa Martha Acatitla Female Social Reintegration Center.

In another operation in the capital, three more collaborators of the criminal cell were captured in the Del Gas neighborhood, Azcapotzalco borough. Likewise, a third action was carried out in the Santa Úrsula Coapa neighborhood, Coyoacán borough, where another individual related to the same criminal organization was arrested.

Additionally, three search warrants were executed in properties located in the Tláhuac and Iztapalapa boroughs, where various quantities of narcotics were found.

According to the investigations, Edgar Jesus "N" would be linked to the disappearance of a former soccer player that occurred in August 2023. It is believed that "El Faso" led a criminal cell dedicated to drug dealing and extortion in the Coyoacán, Tlalpan, and Xochimilco boroughs.
