The Mexican Navy School ship is open to the public, here are the days and hours

A Mexican Navy ship arrived in San Diego with hundreds of crew members and naval personnel as part of the 2024 Tricontinental Training Cruise.

The vessel, known as the "Cuauhtémoc," will be in San Diego from May 16 to 20 and will offer free public tours. It will be open until 5 p.m. on May 16 and from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from May 17 to 20 at the B Street pier, next to the cruise terminal of the Port of San Diego.

The naval ship arrived on Thursday morning and was welcomed by the Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego, along with naval, civilian, and diplomatic authorities. A mariachi band and students from St. Rose of Lima Elementary School, waving Mexican flags, welcomed the ship and its crew to San Diego.

The ship has sailed oceans and seas around the world for over four decades, training more than 41 generations of officers. Mexican officials stated that the ship "has carried a message of peace and goodwill, having visited more than 228 ports in 73 countries in its history.

It encouraged sailors to carry Mexico in their hearts and wished them "smooth sailing" during the 222 days of their journey across three continents. After visiting San Diego, the ship will set sail on May 21 towards Honolulu and continue its nautical journey to 13 ports in 10 countries, including Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, and Tahiti, according to officials.
