Alongside the bodies, there were posters supposedly addressed to members of the police

In the early hours of Thursday, four dismembered bodies, belonging to three men and one woman, were found in the Ciudad Renacimiento neighborhood in Acapulco. Along with the human remains, a Urvan van was also set on fire.

The incident was reported around 5:15 AM when four coolers containing human heads and other scattered remains were discovered between Cuauhtémoc and Circuito Interior streets, near Secondary School Number 9. Authorities from all three levels of government attended the scene, cordoning off the area and closing the streets to secure the location. Posters with messages referencing alleged thefts were also found at the site and were secured by Forensic Services personnel.

This event adds to a wave of violence that has affected Acapulco in the last 24 hours, during which nine crimes have been recorded in various neighborhoods of the port city. During the proceedings, a woman approached the scene asking to identify one of the bodies, claiming that her son had been kidnapped the previous day, but she was not allowed access.

The bodies were taken to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) as unidentified, while the Guerrero State Attorney General's Office has opened an investigation for qualified homicide against those responsible. So far, no arrests related to these murders have been reported.
