Users expressed on social media waiting in line for up to 7 hours

During this morning, hundreds of users took to social media to express their frustration over waiting in lines of up to 7 hours to cross the Mexico-United States border at the San Ysidro checkpoint. This was allegedly due to personnel and filming equipment from the streaming service Netflix conducting shoots near the border crossing line.

Border Patrol agents (CBP) cordoned off areas and assisted in setting up filming equipment, leading to speculation among citizens about the reason for this activity. While the information has not been confirmed by U.S. authorities, professional video cameras are reportedly present at the scene.

Though the exact number of lanes closed is unknown, the traffic congestion prompted users to divert to the Otay area, causing traffic chaos at both border crossings and in areas such as the westbound fast lane and Lazaro Cardenas Boulevard towards Otay.
