In the municipal area of Ocotlán, located in the state of Jalisco, disturbances erupted involving a confrontation between a group of armed individuals allegedly affiliated with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and members of the National Guard (GN).

Ricardo Sánchez Beruben, head of the Strategic General Coordination of Security in Jalisco, confirmed these events through social media platforms. Additionally, he requested support from all three levels of government to address the situation.

Beruben detailed that around 1 p.m., State Police agents were dispatched to support the National Guard. One hour later, he stated that the situation was under control, although surveillance would continue in the area.

During the incident, a member of the National Guard sustained injuries. Although information about the severity of the injuries and her current condition was not provided, a video circulated on social media, presumed to depict the same individual, shows the agent on the ground with a significant amount of blood around and apparently with a portion of her arm affected.

As of now, no casualties or other injured individuals have been reported.
