At kilometer 13 of the Tijuana-Tecate highway.

This morning, on the toll road from Tijuana to Tecate, at kilometer 13, near the border wall, the "Colectivo Todos Somos Erick Carrillo" made a discovery: four lifeless individuals.

According to initial observations, the four victims appear to be male migrants. Three of them were found in the same area, while the fourth was located a few meters away. All the bodies had their hands tied and showed gunshot wounds in the head area.

This discovery is not an isolated case in the area. Approximately a month ago, five corpses were found in the same location.

Eddy Carrillo, the president of the "Colectivo Todos Somos Erick Carrillo," reported that they received notice of this incident at 11 PM yesterday and immediately mobilized to search for the victims. Carrillo also emphasized that due to the advanced state of decomposition of the bodies, it is estimated that the individuals had been deceased for at least five days.

[Update]

The INM (National Migration Institute) reported that last Wednesday, a Mexican citizen presented himself at the offices of the Beta Tecate Group and reported that two of his family members had attempted to cross the border into the United States on September 19th. However, during their crossing attempt, they were both shot at while walking through a mountainous area.

The person who made the report explained that one of the migrants passed out during the attack and, upon regaining consciousness, couldn't locate his companion. Therefore, he went to the INM facilities seeking help, as he suspected that his relative might have been seriously injured in the incident.

Authorities conducted an initial search but did not find the migrants. They continued their search on Thursday.

During the search, the INM met with members of the “Todos somos Erick Carrillo” collective, who claimed to have found four bodies that could correspond to migrants. One of these bodies matched the description of a sought-after Mexican migrant.

Although initially uncertain if the bodies belonged to migrants, the INM's confirmation clarified the tragic situation, and the case is still under investigation.
