Yevgeny Prigozhin was on the passenger list of a private plane heading from Moscow to St. Petersburg

This Wednesday, through the TASS news agency, the plane crash of a private aircraft traveling from Moscow to St. Petersburg in Russia was reported. According to the report, ten people died inside the Wagner private jet, on which it is speculated that Evgeny Prigozhin was aboard.

According to the Russian channels Mash and Baza, there is speculation that it could have been a terrorist attack; furthermore, it was reported that strong explosions were heard in the sky during the flight.

The Rosaviatsiya department reported: "An investigation into the plane crash that occurred this afternoon in the Tver region has been initiated. According to the passenger list, the name and surname of Yevgeny Prigozhin are among them." Additionally, there is a possibility that his right-hand man, Dmitry Utkin, Prigozhin's cameraman, a Wagner assistant, and his bodyguard could be on board the plane.

After the accident was reported, associates of Prigozhin confirmed that they could not communicate with him, so many believe it would be a miracle if he were not on board. Of the ten bodies found, eight of them had severe burns, so DNA tests will be needed to confirm their identities.

Who is Yevgeny Prigohin?

He is the head of the Wagner mercenary group, who are responsible for targeting high-ranking Russian militia members after the war in Ukraine. In 1981, Prigozhin was sentenced to 12 years in prison for robbery and assault. In the 90s, he opened a restaurant in St. Petersburg, where he met Vladimir Putin.
