Son of a famous spanish actor confesses to the crime

Daniel Sancho Bronchano, a 29-year-old Spaniard, confessed to being guilty of the murder of his Colombian friend Edwin Arrieta Arteaga in Thailand, claiming he felt held hostage by Arrieta. Sancho, the son of actor Rodolfo Sancho, made these statements in front of his court-appointed lawyers and agents at the police station in Koh Phangan, where he is detained. He asserted that Arrieta forced him to ruin his relationship with his girlfriend and to take actions he would have never done.

Sancho denied having a romantic relationship with Arrieta and accused the latter of being obsessed with him and threatening him. He claimed that Arrieta deceived him into believing they wanted to do business together when, in reality, Arrieta was seeking a romantic relationship. Sancho described how Arrieta would threaten him whenever he attempted to distance himself: "I'm guilty, but I was Edwin's hostage. He had me as a hostage. It was a glass cage, but it was a cage".

When asked if he felt pressured by the police to confess, Sancho replied, "I didn't feel comfortable, but not forced either." He added, "I also felt like I had no other choice. They took DNA samples from me, and that's it. That's all".

Despite Sancho's statements, formal charges against him have not yet been filed. He will be presented before a judge in Koh Samui. Thai authorities took Sancho to various locations on the island to reconstruct the crime. Edwin Arrieta Arteaga, a 44-year-old Colombian surgeon, was found murdered and dismembered in Thailand.
