The state of Florida has demonstrated several issues in recent times.

The Tampa Bay's Fox 13 news channel reports that marine biologist Tom Hird believes there is a good possibility that sharks have been consuming bales of cocaine that have been dumped off the coast of Florida to be picked up by traffickers.

Even if you are not afraid of sharks, the idea of sharks consuming cocaine should be terrifying. However, for now, there doesn't appear to be any observed instances of sharks actually eating drug bundles.

But just because it hasn't been officially observed doesn't mean there isn't evidence that it has happened. Reportedly, Hird traveled to Florida to investigate this possibility after receiving testimonies from several fishermen who claimed to have witnessed sharks devouring floating bundles of cocaine.

In addition to observing peculiar shark behavior during a dive, Hird also teamed up with environmental scientist Tracy Fanara from the University of Florida to drop fake cocaine bales into the ocean. When they did this, they apparently saw several sharks swim up to the bundles and take bites, with one of them even grabbing the entire package and swimming away with it.

While it is entirely possible that Florida sharks are not consuming cocaine, now that we have heard it as a possibility, does anyone truly believe it is not happening? That the sharks are all sticking to their promises of not doing drugs and refusing to go skiing when the substance is right there in front of them? For free? There is simply no way to believe that.
