The United States Department of Justice sent a letter to Greg Abbot stating that the floating wall violates Federal Law

After the state of Texas began to place a floating border fence in the vicinity of the Rio Grande, Mexican authorities sent a statement warning that they would review the implementation of this measure, since it would possibly be violating 1994 water treaties, in the same way, the US Department of Justice reported that it will file a lawsuit against the border state.

Governor Greg Abbot's measure is justified in the cases of drowning that have arisen at that border crossing, however, the disagreement of the measures taken, not only by the current governor, but also by Duog Ducey, has been revoked and sued, forcing their withdrawal.

This is the case of the wall built with metal containers, which were recently put up for sale after they lost a lawsuit forcing them to withdraw them.

With the same purpose and concerns, the Department of Justice sent a letter to the Texan president explaining that these measures violate Federal Law. As they raise humanitarian concerns, and present a risk to public safety and the environment.

In this same letter, reference is made to the Law indicating that the creation of any obstruction to the navigable capacity of said country is prohibited, without their being authorized by the group of engineers of the US army.

For his part, Abbot points out that Texas has the sovereign authority to protect its borders, established in the Constitution, the same information that Joe Biden has been made aware of on several occasions.

He is left to wait the next few hours for a resolution, whether it results in the same fate as the Ducey containers, or they allow Abbot to proceed with said floating border wall.
