Criticism of NATO's provocative expansion policy

Russia responded to the challenges and threats identified at the NATO summit in Vilnius, stating that it will use all means and methods available to protect its security and interests. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that it will continue to strengthen its Armed Forces and defense system. They believe that the summit demonstrates NATO's return to Cold War schemes, based on the ideology of dividing the world into "democracy and autocracy".

Russia accused NATO of fostering instability, destroying states, and committing illegal actions, including "war crimes with impunity". They criticized NATO's provocative expansion policy and its focus on "NATO-ization" of Ukraine, aimed at playing a role in the hybrid war against Russia. Additionally, they pointed out that NATO has lowered the threshold for the use of force and strengthened the nuclear component in its military planning.

Russia maintains that the majority of countries are concerned about what is happening and believes that security should be indivisible, without disregarding the security of others. Despite the geopolitical plans of Washington and Brussels, Moscow concluded that the world will not become a "NATO sphere".
