The accident occurred at an altitude of approximately 3,300 meters in the Solukhumbu district

A helicopter from the company Manang Air crashed near Everest in Nepal, resulting in the death of five Mexican tourists and a Nepalese pilot. There were no survivors.

The aircraft was carrying a Mexican family that had rented the helicopter to enjoy an aerial view of Everest. The bad weather conditions are hampering the efforts to recover the bodies.

The accident occurred at an altitude of approximately 3,300 meters in the Solukhumbu district. The two helicopters deployed to retrieve the bodies were unable to land due to heavy rain.

Nepal has experienced several air accidents in the past, leading to international sanctions due to the lack of proper controls. Nepalese airlines have been banned from accessing European Union territory since 2013.

This accident adds to other aviation incidents that have occurred in Nepal in recent years, including the death of seven people in 2019, including the Nepalese Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation. There was also an accident in January of this year that resulted in the death of 72 passengers due to human error, making it the worst air accident in Nepal recently.

Authorities continue to work on the recovery of the bodies and the investigation to determine the exact causes of the accident.
