Under the slogan "Ven y danos lata" (Come and give us cans), Fundación Tijuana Sin Hambre is inviting the community to join its ongoing campaign to collect canned food for the benefit of a kitchen operated in conjunction with This is About Humanity and the International Community Foundation. This partnership aims to provide meals to vulnerable communities in the city of Tijuana through a binational philanthropic alliance.

Maru Riqué de Vargas, president of the foundation, explained that the kitchen currently prepares nearly 3,000 meals each day to feed children, adults, senior citizens, and migrants in shelters, orphanages, and nursing homes in Tijuana. Additionally, it provides food to people experiencing homelessness.

This year alone, three new shelters have been added as beneficiaries of the kitchen, bringing the total to 19 supported by this project. Among them are Movimiento Juventud 2000, Casa YMCA, Club de Niños y Niñas, Jardín de las Mariposas, Casa del Anciano, Albergue Venezolanos, Border Line Crisis Center, Fundación Yes We Can, Refugio de Mujeres Casa Puerta de Esperanza, Casa de Luz, and Manitas Construyendo, to name a few.

Therefore, there is a pressing need to continue developing campaigns to collect supplies that enable the foundation to provide the necessary sustenance to these civil associations. In turn, these associations can continue offering other support programs, including education, physical and mental health, and sports promotion.

Those interested in making donations can deliver their contributions to the kitchen located at 921 Melchor Ocampo Avenue, Zona Centro, from 8 am to 12 pm, Monday to Saturday.

Additionally, collection centers are available at Café D´Volada Auditorio, located at L-2 Auditorio Blvd. Gustavo Díaz Ordaz #4055, Colonia El Prado, Café Blue Luna, Otay Industrial branch, at Int.11 and 12 Plaza Nueva Tijuana, and at the security booth of Las Plazas residential area on Blvd. Las Plazas street, s/n.
