According to her representative's statement, "Tina Turner, recognized as the queen of rock and roll, has peacefully passed away at her residence in Küsnacht, near Zurich (Switzerland), at the age of 83, after a long illness. With her departure, the world loses a music legend and an inspirational figure."

 

Tina Turner was one of the most prominent artists of all time, famous for hits such as "What's Love Got to Do with It" and "The Best."

 

The music world mourns the loss of a true legend and role model. Turner, whose real name was Annie Mae Bullock, was a singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress who left an indelible mark on the music industry for decades. Her powerful voice and energy on stage allowed her to masterfully blend soul and rock 'n' roll.

 

Tina Turner's career spanned over 50 years, during which she sold over 200 million records worldwide. Her legacy includes 22 albums, consisting of 12 studio albums, 3 live albums, and 7 compilations. The artist received 21 Grammy nominations, winning eight awards, highlighting her impact and talent in the music industry.

 

Born on November 26, 1939, in Brownsville, Tennessee, Tina Turner moved to Switzerland and obtained Swiss citizenship in 2013. Although she retired from music in 2009 at the age of 70, her legacy will endure as one of the most influential and beloved artists of all time.
